臺北市立圖書館

此獎是由英國圖書信託基金會(Booktrust)所舉辦，由Bookstart和the Unwin Foundation所資助，主要是為公開鼓勵針對嬰幼兒、學齡前兒童所出版之童書而設置。其前身為The Sainsbury's Baby Book Award (於1999年設立，因響應Bookstart運動、強調與嬰幼兒共同閱讀之重要性而設置，評選一歲以下嬰幼兒的最佳圖書，獎金為2,000元英鎊)。

在2004年改名為The Booktrust Early Years Award，並將獎項分為三類：1歲以下嬰幼兒最佳童書(The best book for babies under one year old)、1-5歲學齡前兒童最佳童書(The best book for pre-school children, up to five years of age)、最佳繪者獎(An award for the best new illustrator)。
